About us
Giant Heart was founded in 2019 by Zenzozenkosi Shabangu, who recognized the numerous social ills affecting the community. It was registered as an NPO in 2020 and later under Section 18A(1) on February 4, 2024. The name Giant Heart symbolizes a platform for people with a passion for giving and helping others overcome social challenges to lead better lives.
In 2020, Zenzozenkosi invited like-minded individuals to join the cause, and they began visiting homes to donate items such as food and clothing. To further address community issues, Giant Heart introduced activities like sports, arts, and culture as a means to reduce crime, drug abuse, and other societal problems.
Giant Heart has also partnered with the Department of Correctional Services as part of a reintegration plan for ex-convicts. Its future goals include establishing community service centers and care facilities to provide ongoing support to those in need.
