OUR RECYCLING

Giant Heart NPO continues to make a meaningful impact in Cornubia through its Community Recycling Programme, which empowers local residents with opportunities to protect the environment while creating pathways to economic participation.

In partnership with Durban Solid Waste (DSW), SAWPA, and PETCO, Giant Heart recently handed over recycling uniforms, personal protective equipment (PPE), and official identification cards to community recyclers. This initiative is aimed at ensuring recyclers can work safely, professionally, and with greater recognition within the community.

The handover represents more than just equipment—it is an investment in people. By supporting informal recyclers, Giant Heart is helping to improve waste management, reduce illegal dumping, promote environmental awareness, and create opportunities for sustainable livelihoods in Cornubia.
